Sale of 526-528 W. Tennessee St 0.25-acre Parcel
The Commission approved 3-2 a substitute motion to proceed with negotiating the sale of a City-owned parcel at 526-528 W. Tennessee St to Peerless Development. The substitute motion added conditions that sale proceeds be used for affordable housing in Frenchtown and that the developer engage with the neighborhood association. Several community members opposed the sale, citing Frenchtown history and neighborhood plans.

“Authorize staff to negotiate the terms of the sale of 526-528 W. Tennessee St properties, direct staff to provide public notice per City Commission Policy 136, and schedule final City Commission approval of the Purchase and Sale Agreement upon negotiations and public notice; with caveats that (1) proceeds be earmarked for Affordable Housing in Frenchtown and (2) the developer engage with the neighborhood association regarding affordable housing and homelessness solutions.”
