Ratification of PBA Collective Bargaining Agreements – TPD Officers, Investigators, Sergeants & Lieutenants
The Commission approved collective bargaining agreements for TPD's Officers & Investigators and Sergeants & Lieutenants units represented by the PBA, contingent on union membership certification by October 1, 2023. Two prior motions by Commissioner Porter failed. Commissioners Matlow and Porter voted against the substitute motion, citing concerns over Article 8, which allows the police chief to retain officers who test positive for amphetamines.
